Philippians 2:4 – Interests of Others (April 8)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Friday. April 8th. The 6th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Philippians 2:4.

Philippians 2:4
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Yesterday we read verse 3 where we saw we should do nothing out of selfish ambition. Here today we see that we should actually look to the interests of others. That means to make a concerted effort in our everyday routines to focus on being a blessing to others. To not let our own desires drive what we live for.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with getting things for ourselves or doing things for ourselves. We’re talking about our overall focus of life. Is your focus on you or what the Father has for you to do in this life. When we realize that we are not our own, it changes everything.

We’ve all heard it is more blessed to give than to receive, but do we really believe it? That question is answered in how we live it. Our actions speak so much louder than words. Always.

So begin examining your actions every day. Find out who you are you living for. For you? Or for YHWH?See if your actions are lining up with your words.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
