Pride – Romans 12:16

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Romans 12:16
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Our verse says to live in harmony with one another. Notice it doesn’t say to live in agreement with one another. You see, you can have harmony and not be in agreement on every topic. This is a subject I really don’t think many are grasping. And that concerns me.

The last part of our verse says to not be proud or conceited, but to be willing to associate with people of low position. Now, you might be thinking to yourself “Well, I’m nobody of a high position that’s for sure.” And that may be true. However, have you ever been tempted to avoid someone because they were of a lower social status or income level? Did you give into that temptation?

Yet, it goes both ways. I’ve seen where the pride and unwillingness came from those would have been considered in the “lower status.” They wanted nothing to do with the others. Hear this today, pride knows no barriers.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
