Priorities? – Matthew 10:2-4

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 10:2-4
These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

The twelve disciples. Could you have named them before we just read this verse? Odds are, most of us couldn’t. I know I couldn’t have. Oh, maybe most of them. But not all of them. Yet, how many famous actors can we name? How many famous singers or musicians? How many famous football players, baseball players, basketball or even hockey? How many songs can we recite word for word at a moments notice? Yet, when it comes to the people who really impacted the world, when it comes to the verses that can truly change the world, it seems we can think of every reason why we can’t remember them.

Why is that? Seriously. Is it our priorities? I don’t know. Maybe we all need to think about this.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
