Prison – Acts 16:22-25

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Acts 16:22-25
The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Interesting isn’t it? Paul and Silas were stripped, beaten and then thrown into prison. When most people would be singing the blues and wallowing in self pity, they were singing praise to YHWH. The next verse then shows an earthquake shook the foundations of the prison opening all the prison doors.

Now I’m not here to say if you sing praise in your hard times that YHWH will always do something miraculous like that. However, I believe the mere fact of them singing His praise in that situation was a miracle already. They were already free. What about you? Or do you let circumstances put you in prison?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
