Purposed Trials – Deuteronomy 8:2-3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Deuteronomy 8:2
Remember how YHWH your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of YHWH.

If ever you are going through a hard time, these are verses to read. While I agree that hard times can come from the enemy, we can’t forget that YHWH can bring us into a season of hard times as well. However, it’s not to be mean. It’s to reveal what’s in our hearts.

Going through hard times has a way of revealing what’s behind the veneer of our smiles on our faces. It’s in those hard times that we find out ourselves what’s hidden inside. If you’re facing hard times, do some soul searching.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
