Qualities of Life – Proverbs 2:7-8

He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
These are encouraging words for the believer. But these are not referring to your everyday believer. These are traits we should pursue. They don’t come naturally just because you “believe.”
The Hebrew for “Upright” means “straight” – one who takes no crooked paths of deception.
The Hebrew for “Blameless” means “integrity” – one who has nothing to hide and walks in honesty and honor.
The Hebrew for “Just” means “justice” – one who looks after the rights of others and not just their own.
The Hebrew for “Faithful” means “godly” – one who walks godly. This can be a hard one to swallow. I mean, what does it really mean to be “godly”? It means to walk in the traits of YHWH. What is the number one trait that YHWH has that all of us as believers can testify to?
He’s merciful. If He wasn’t, none of us would have hope. So then, wouldn’t it make sense to be “godly” is to be merciful to others as He has been to us?
Take a humble look at your life and ask yourself if these traits exemplify you. If they don’t, there’s no better time than the present to start working on them.
