Rebuked – Mark 16:14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Mark 16:14
Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

I don’t know why, but this just seems to be a verse that hardly ever gets attention. Yeshua appears to His eleven disciples just after He appeared to a few others and He rebukes them for not believing the others in saying He had raised from the dead. If there was anyone who should have believed the message of Him raising from the dead it should have been the eleven disciples. After all, He told them several times it would happen.

Something tells me this wasn’t a kind rebuke. While I’m sure they were ashamed of themselves because of this, they had to be amazed and even thankful they were being rebuked from Yeshua and that He wasn’t still in the ground. So what can we learn from this? Take Him at His word. There will be a time we will all stand before Him. Will He rebuke you for not believing?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
