The Right Guy? – Judges 6:11-12

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Judges 6:11
The angel of YHWH came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of YHWH appeared to Gideon, he said, “YHWH is with you, mighty warrior.”

This is one of my favorite stories in the scriptures. Out of no where the angel of YHWH appears to a guy, who thinks he’s nobody, and says “YHWH is with you, mighty warrior.” Does it get any better than this? This is a prime example that YHWH doesn’t only look at who we are but also who we can be. You may feel you are capable of nothing big for YHWH, but it doesn’t matter what you think.

YHWH has something for all of us in his will, we simply have to take our eyes off ourselves and trust in Him. Are you willing to let YHWH use you? It all starts there. Don’t look at what you can do. He doesn’t want your ability. He wants your availability.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
