Ruins? – 1 Timothy 2:14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Timothy 2:14
Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

I’ve seen so many argue different topics with one purpose in mind. To show that they have the right answer. They do all they can to argue their point is the superior answer to the topic at hand. While both sides of the argument dig in for the fight, there are many who watch at a distance.

Because both sides know they are being watched, the pressure is on not to be wrong. It then has the potential of becoming an issue of pride instead of knowing the truth. So instead of openly considering a point from the other side as being plausible for consideration, their focus is more on how to give a rebuttal to the point.

All the while, those who watch to learn truth are left with nothing to hold on to. Nothing to help build their faith. In a sense, they are left with nothing but ruins to search through.

So what do you leave behind?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
