Silly Question – 1 Peter 2:11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

Sinful desires war against your soul everyday. They serve only to weaken you. They get your focus blurred from the objective that the Father has called you to. They distract you from where your attention needs to be. They get you wasting time on something that only bring you down and never build you up.

You see, the enemy knows he can’t defeat you when you are walking in the Word. His only hope is to get your focus away from walking in obedience to YHWH. He will go to whatever measures he can to tailor temptations to your desires. Every time you fall prey to those desires, you grow weaker and the enemy grows stronger in your life.

Is that what you want? Of course not. Silly question right? However, how seriously should we view that silly question when faced with the desires that war against our souls?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
