A Strong Tower – Proverbs 18:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 18:10
The name of YHWH is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Have you ever though of just what it means to run to the name of YHWH? I mean, think about it. How can we run to a name? But so many quote this verse like that makes sense.

What many don’t know is that the word for name here in the Hebrew is “shem.” This word can actually carry several definitions. One of which is “authority.” If someone says “I come in the name of the king.” What does that mean? It means that they are coming in the authority of the King.

So the authority of YHWH is a strong tower and the righteous run to it and are safe. Now it makes a little more sense. But what is the authority of YHWH? It’s His eternal word. It’s His Word that stands forever. It’s His Word that all will judged by and rewarded by. Now it really makes sense.

So when someone runs to the eternal Word of YHWH, they are kept safe in Him.

So where do you run? Run to YHWH’s eternal Word.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom.
