Testing the Heart – Proverbs 17:3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 17:3
The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but YHWH tests the heart.

When you buy something made of gold, you’ll find that gold has almost always been purified. How many times have you ever heard someone say “Hey, look at my 14 carrot un-purified gold ring?” It just doesn’t happen.

But just as our verse said “The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold” YHWH does indeed test our heart. He loves us so much that He doesn’t want to leave us the way we are. He sees through our impurities and sees what we can be in Him. And so He puts us through tests to purify the world from us. To remove all that is not of Him.

How can we expect to grow deeper in our walk with the Father if we don’t pass the tests He gives us. We are expected to grow in our walk and not keep failing at the same things over and over.

Just as no one wants to show off a ring made with un-purified gold, YHWH does not want to leave you the way you are. Trust in Him. Grow in Him.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom.
