Thorns – 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Lot’s of speculation has gone forth as to what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was. Yet, nobody really knows for sure. Paul says it was given to him to keep him humble. Now, pause for a second. Have you ever pondered the thought that the Father could be allowing something in your life to keep you humble? So many are quick to blame the enemy when they go through hard times. Yet, maybe, just maybe, it’s the Father.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
