Two Cents – Exodus 14:13-14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ex. 14:13
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance YHWH will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 YHYH will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Look at what was said them. “You need only to be still.” Have you ever felt like that was just the hardest thing ever to do? For many of us, there’s something in us that makes us feel that we have to do something when faced with a difficult circumstance. To somehow put our two cents into helping the situation. When more times than not, we just make things worse.

I love it how Moses said “The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” We know that was indeed a fact. But what if they didn’t remain still? What if they tried putting their two cents worth in? Do you really think they would have made a difference in that situation? Of course not. So why do we think we can make a difference in ours?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
