Unity – Psalm 133:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 133:1-3
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there YHWH bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

This has always been a verse that I have loved to hear. The problem, in my opinion, is that many don’t understand unity. Many believe in order to have unity everyone has to agree on everything. While I confess that would definitely make life easier, it’s not a necessity for unity in the Body of Messiah.

Unity starts with a humble heart before YHWH. It does not start with a prideful stance that everyone needs to see things the way you do. I have great friends that I differ with on multiple topics. Yet, we are still great friends. Great friends. We don’t try to convince one another they are wrong. We pray for one another. What is unity to you?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
