We Are Family – Galatians 6:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Galatians 6:10
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Well, it doesn’t get any simpler than that. Do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Have you ever heard the term “Blood is thicker than water?” Every time I’ve heard this phrase, it’s always been used in the sense that it’s referring to family sticking together more than friends.

However, there is a saying out there that says this particular understanding of that phrase is wrong. It actually says the phrase is referring to the blood of the covenant with Yeshua is thicker than the water of birth into a family. That definitely made me think as it made sense to me. It gives the implication that our relationships with fellow believers should be stronger that those of our family. The funny thing is, we are often referred to as family in the scriptures.

While we should always be kind to all, especially to our own family, don’t forget believers are our family in the faith.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
