Willing to be Wrong – 2 Timothy 4:3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

What is it people want to hear? I suppose if we think about it, it could be a big answer. However, I tend to lean the foundation to all of those possible answers could be based in one. Everybody wants to be told they’re right. It truly seems all answers to what people want could circle around that one issue.

It’s a form of pride. No one wants to be told they’re wrong. Because if we’re wrong, then we have to change. And we all know that no one likes change. So what happens? People look for like minded ministers to reaffirm what they believe to be true. To tell them what they already know from other perspectives.

This results in no growth in the Word. It can ultimately lead into rejecting the Word all together while not realizing it. So, are you willing to be wrong?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
