Wonderful Things – Psalm 119:18

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

How do you view the law of God? Before you answer too quickly, did you know Yeshua quoted the law to overcome temptation? Matthew chapter four makes that pretty clear. If Yeshua used it to overcome sin, shouldn’t that put some importance on it for us as well?

I’ve heard of many people quoting verses from the book Psalms to help them overcome hard times. Yet, how often do they quote verses like our verse today? The law of God is simply incredible. He gave it to us for our benefit according to Deuteronomy chapter 10 verses 12 and 13. That’s right. For our own good.

That being the case, how much more should we make Davids prayer here in Psalm 119 ours as well? He prayed for his eyes to be open to see the wonderful things in the law. Knowing that YHWH gave us the law truly for our own good, will you make this prayer yours today? “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
