Worst Enemy – James 1:13,14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

James 1:13,14
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

Nope. The devil didn’t make you do it. If ever we fall, it’s because of our own evil desire. That’s right. That’s what it said. By our own “evil desire.” Now, no one wants to think that they have “evil” inside of them. But there is no getting around it.

This is why Paul said, “I die daily.” This is why Yeshua said, “take up your cross daily.” There is no doubt that we are at war with the enemy. And there is no doubt he goes around like a roaring lion. But make no mistake about it. Your worst enemy is you. This is why Paul said in
1Cor. 9:27 …

1Cor. 9:27
“No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”

So when you get out of bed in the morning, you know who your worst enemy is. Don’t give in.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
