Worthless – Proverbs 18:11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 18:11
The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it an unscalable wall.

No matter how much you do to protect your investments, there’s always something we don’t see around the corner. In fact, when the people of YHWH make money their god, YHWH has His ways to bring that god on it’s knees. Which in turn brings His people to their knees.

Wealth is not a fortified city. It’s not something we should put our hope and trust in. Wealth can be deceitful. It can deceive us into thinking we need it for our security. Even Yeshua mentions the deceitfulness of wealth.

Matthew 13:22
The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

Don’t get me wrong. Money is very useful in life, regardless of what currency or tender it is. However, it is not to be what we put our trust in. It is not to be what we put our hope in.

Proverbs 11:4
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom
