Your Hope – Psalms 33:16-19

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalms 33:16-19
No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. But the eyes of YHWH are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

We all want to think we trust in YHWH. Yet, is He the ONLY one we trust in? Our verse says “No king is saved by the size of his army”, yet isn’t that the focus of a king for his safety? The size of his army?

There are so many things in life that can give us false hope. There is most likely nothing wrong in having these things. Yet, like a king with his army, we have to check ourselves and make sure our ultimate hope is in YHWH. Otherwise, that which we put our hope in may prove to be 100% useless in the time of our need.

Is there anything in this life you’re placing more hope in compared to your hope you have in YHWH.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
